Evangelical Academy Loccum

With more than 80 events per year, the Evangelical Academy Loccum enables open and at the same time critical encounters in socio-political debates. In doing so, she wants to strengthen democracy in the country and keep the peace. As an important forum in Lower Saxony, the academy has national and international appeal.

After the end of the Nazi regime, the churches in Germany recognized their complicity in a society shaped by dictatorship and violence. In order to face up to their responsibility for a political reorientation in Germany, the regional evangelical churches in West Germany founded church academies with socio-political programs.
