ATTENTION TO SUDAN

 

Dear Mr. Stephan Weil Prime Minister of Lower Saxony,

(Dear Mrs. Julia Willie Hamburg Deputy Prime Minister of Lower Saxony),  

 

We, as Sudanese from Lower Saxony, ask for your recognition of our situation and your commitment to paying more attention to the ongoing war in Sudan. It is important to us that we talk to you about our idea of the Sudan Revival Fund. 

 

We are convinced that a democratic Sudan committed to the UN SDGs will be an important partner for Lower Saxony. As UMBAJA e.V., this development is very important to us, since we have built up a worldwide network since 2012, which can work from exile in all parts of Sudan. 

 

We have two specific concerns that we would like to discuss with you:

 

• The war needs to get more attention in Lower Saxony, Germany and Europe. There is no attention. A new focus is needed in the public debates.

• We, the Sudanese from Lower Saxony, want to concentrate on the urgent humanitarian aid and long-term goals in fields of energy, food and development policy cooperation, because we know from daily Information exchange and communication with our network that civil society does not support the war and a military-led government in any way. 

 

We call on you as well as the government of Lower Saxony to support the Sudanese and to give them a sign of attention in the public debate in their striving for freedom, peace, justice and democracy and thus to help all the people in need. 

 

We are aware of the power of the voice of the Lower Saxony state government through Prime Minister Mr. Stephan Weil and Deputy Prime Minister Mrs. Julia Willie Hamburg, we trust and believe in them.

 

Our position has strong support from the individuals and NGOs signing below in Lower Saxony. They are determined to work together with you and us to overcome the challenges that we face.
